The need to pray
I have the urge to pray for you,
and on my knees, this will I do.
We've never met, you may think it's silly,
but according to God, we are family.
More than likely, I've been where you are.
So, I know the light seems so far.
But if you trust God, He will be there.
Reach for Him, your troubles He will bear.
Sometimes our load gets so heavy, we can't pray.
It seems like our Lord is too far away.
That's when your fellow christians come in,
to help you pray that this battle you will win.
So, after I finish this poem I'm writing,
I will pray for this battle you're fighting.
Whether it be family, finances, fear, health or whatever,
God can fix it, and you will be thankful to Him forever.
As I pray for your needs, believe with me.
Believe that God will answer... just believe.
One more thing before I go, try praying again.
This battle of not being able to pray, this too, you will win!
The comforter
We live on this alien planet,
And as we journey through this life,
It can make us or it can break us,
As we seek God's everlasting life.
When worries cause us to stumble,
And our tears begin to overflow,
Praise God for His ray of sunshine,
That gives us the courage to grow.
When we dwell on our sorrows,
We'll wonder if we can make it through,
Give it all to our Holy Father,
He will always comfort you.
We all need a shoulder to lean on,
A friend to hold our trembling hand:
Jesus is our Master Healer,
When we follow His Father's command.
Count your many blessings,
In the midst of your darkest night,
Our Savior will reward us,
And our worst fears will take flight.
Do not regret your actions
I've heard it said don't go to bed
while hanging on to sorrow,
you may not have the chance to laugh
with those you love tomorrow.
You may not mean the words you speak
when anger takes its toll,
you may regret your actions
once you've lost your self control.
When you've lost your temper
and you've said some hurtful things,
think about the heartache
that your actions sometime bring.
You'll never get those moments back,
such precious time to waste,
and all because of things you said
in anger and in haste.
So if you're loving someone
and your pride has settled in,
you may not ever have the chance
to say to them again...
"I love you and I miss you
and although we don't agree,
I'll try to see your point of view,
please do the same for me."

What is a Best Friend?
Someone who loves you
Someone who cares for you
Someone you share your secrets with
Someone you go places with
Best friends are a treasure
An all around pleasure
They pray for each other
And always stick together
Through good times and bad times
For the rest of their lives
They don't betray you or use you
Or even pressure you into doing wrong
Because they've loved you all along
If your best friend doesn't see eye to eye
And their tempers start to fly
Calm yourself and always be forgiving
Cause that's part of God's holy living
God rewards us when we are forgiving.
